Who it is for
Pixumbra Studio is built for photographers, sellers and anyone finishing a folder of pictures who would rather not upload them to a subscription service.
It sits in the photo & imaging part of the catalogue, and your photographs never leave the machine to be processed. There is no server behind Pixumbra Studio to send them to.
Local-first, by design
Plenty of the alternatives send your photographs to a server to be handled. Pixumbra Studio does not. Processing runs on your CPU or GPU, and the photographs you open stay where you put them. The application keeps working with the network switched off.

Excellent software and outstanding support
I started using Pixumbra Studio to improve and restore some of my old photographs, and my first impressions have been very positive. I particularly like the Portrait feature, which was able to recover facial details while keeping the results natural and faithful to the original photograph. I would also like to highlight the quality of the developer support. I encountered an issue when first launching the application and sent them the log file. The developer quickly identified and reproduced the problem, and it was fixed with the Pixumbra Studio 1.0.1 update. That level of attention and responsiveness is something I really appreciate. Another important advantage for me is that the AI processing runs locally on my PC. I am still exploring everything Pixumbra Studio can do, but based on my experience so far, it is a very interesting and well-designed application backed by a developer who genuinely listens to users. Highly recommended. 5 stars.

No. Pixumbra Studio does its work on your own device. You can install it, disconnect, and it keeps functioning. A connection is only used by the store itself, for installation and licence checks.
