HSX KatanicOS is developed by Hasnain Studio X with a local‑first, privacy‑first design philosophy. Your desktop shell, wallpapers and widgets all run on your PC.

HSX KatanicOS is a Windows desktop shell with a dock, widgets, a command palette and live wallpapers, built with a local-first, privacy-first design philosophy. It reads your system state and shows it to you on your own screen.
Everything the app shows and stores stays on your device.
HSX KatanicOS does not collect, store, or send any of the following to us:
No name, email, phone number, address, account, sign-in or identifiers.
No telemetry, crash analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs of any kind. The word “telemetry” in the app only means the wallpaper showing your own PC’s activity on your own screen.
Notes, pinned apps, clipboard history, imported wallpapers and screen captures are never uploaded.
Processor, graphics, memory, network and battery readings, the list of installed apps and the list of open windows are read only to show them to you on screen. They are never transmitted.
No GPS, IP-based location, or device location. Weather uses the coordinates of the city you choose, not where you are.
We do not run servers, so nothing can be uploaded to us even by accident.
Your ink, wallpaper, widget layout, pinned apps, weather city and preferences are saved under your user profile, in the QuantumOS folder of your local app data (the original folder name of this app, kept so your settings carry over).
Quick notes and any image or video you import are kept in that same folder. Clipboard history is held in memory only and is gone when the app closes.
A capture is taken only when you ask, and saved to the KatanicOS folder in your Pictures library.
A small log of recovered errors is kept in the app folder to help diagnose problems. It contains no personal content and is never sent anywhere.
Managed entirely by the Microsoft Store. The app reads it locally; we receive nothing.
This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app removes its folder; captures you saved to Pictures stay.
HSX KatanicOS is a paid app with a Microsoft Store managed free trial. All licensing, payments, and transactions are handled exclusively by Microsoft.
HSX KatanicOS runs as a full trust desktop app so it can act as a desktop shell: list and launch your apps, show and switch windows, read hardware counters, control volume and brightness, and lock or sleep the PC when you ask.
The app hides the Windows taskbar and shows its own dock only after you agree, the first time you run it. Desktop mode, the tray icon and Exit bring the Windows taskbar back, and it returns automatically if the app closes.
Off until you turn it on in Settings. It uses the Windows startup task, which you can also switch off in Windows Settings.
Used for exactly two requests: the Microsoft Store licence check, and the weather forecast for your chosen city, where the coordinates, rounded to four decimals, are sent to MET Norway. Settings lists every request made in the current session. No data is sent to Hasnain Studio X.
The four code-drawn scenes are drawn on your PC and the 29 bundled wallpapers play from files inside the app. No system data is sent off the device.
HSX KatanicOS is a general-purpose desktop utility. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not collect any data from any user.
If this policy changes, we will update the version and effective date. Any changes will remain consistent with our core principle: Your data stays on your device.
