HSX GlactisOS has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own. It does not collect, sell or share your personal information. Your settings, notes and layouts stay on your PC. The only things that go online are the weather forecast, if you turn live weather on, and the Microsoft Store licence check.

The short version
1. Who we are
HSX GlactisOS is developed and published by Hasnain Butt Akhtar, trading as Hasnain Studio X (referred to as "we", "us" or "the developer").

2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers the HSX GlactisOS desktop application for Windows. It does not cover the programs you launch from it or the media apps it controls; their own policies apply.
3. Information the app handles
Everything below is read or created on your device. Unless section 7 says otherwise, none of it is transmitted to us or anyone else.
Your weather city
Live weather is off until you turn it on. When it is on, the app guesses your city from your Windows region and time zone settings, using a city list built into the app, and you can set the exact city in Settings. Finding the city never goes online; the city and its coordinates are stored only on your PC.
Programs, windows and system state
The app reads your Start menu shortcuts to list installed programs, the titles and icons of open windows for its taskbar, the track playing in your media apps for the Now Playing panel, and processor, memory, disk, network and battery readings for its panels. When you search from the command bar, it looks for matching file names in your Documents, Desktop, Downloads and Pictures folders. All of this stays in memory and is never sent anywhere.
Windows notifications
Only if you allow it when Windows asks, the app reads the title and text of the notifications other apps show, so they appear in its notification history. The history is kept in memory only and is gone when the app closes.
Your own content
Settings, pinned apps, panel positions and saved workspace layouts, quick notes, recent commands and daily launch and focus counts. Calculator and conversion results go to your clipboard only when you choose a result.
Error log
If the app recovers from an error, it writes the error type and a short message to a local log, capped in size. It is never sent anywhere.
4. Information we do not collect
- No account, profile, email address, username or password. There is no sign-in.
- No advertising identifiers and no advertising code.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or telemetry SDK of any kind.
- No precise location. The app does not use Windows location services or GPS, and no longer looks up your IP address.
- No contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, messages or browsing history collection.
- No payment information. Purchases are handled entirely by the Microsoft Store.
5. How information is used
Local information is used only to make the features described on the Store listing work: to draw the live panels and the reactive wallpaper, run the command bar, launcher and taskbar, show the weather and remember your preferences. It is never profiled, sold, shared or used for advertising.
6. Storage, retention and deletion
HSX GlactisOS stores its files in your Windows profile under %LOCALAPPDATA%\NexusOS: the settings file
and the error log. The folder name comes from the app's original code name and keeps your data across updates.
- Turn off live weather in Settings to stop all weather requests.
- Delete the folder above to remove everything the app has stored.
- Uninstall through Windows Settings. No data exists on any server of ours, because we have none.
7. Network activity and third parties
Settings lists every request the app made in the current session, by service.
- Weather. Only when live weather is on, the app requests the forecast from MET Norway (The Norwegian Meteorological Institute) about every 15 minutes, and asks only for changes since the last forecast. The request carries your city's coordinates, rounded to four decimals, and the app's name, plus the standard information any web request carries, such as your IP address. MET Norway's own terms and privacy policy apply.
- Microsoft Store licence check. Windows tells the app whether your copy is a trial or a full purchase, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
We use no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting service.
8. Permissions the app requests
- Run as a full-trust desktop app: To act as a desktop shell: list and launch programs, show and switch windows, reserve space for its taskbar, read hardware counters, and control volume, brightness and power plans.
- Internet client: The weather forecast when you turn it on, and the Store licence check.
- Radios: To switch Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on and off from the control center.
- Notification listener (asked only when you press the button): To show your Windows notifications in the notification history. Windows asks you first, and you can turn it off in Windows Settings at any time.
- Startup task (optional, off by default): Only if you turn on launch at startup. Turn it off in the app or in Windows Settings at any time.
9. Children
HSX GlactisOS is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. It has no account, social features, chat or advertising, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
10. Your rights and choices
Privacy laws including the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal information a company holds about you. We hold no personal information about you: there is no database, server or account, so there is nothing for us to look up, export or erase. You control all app data directly on your device using the options in section 6. We do not sell or share personal information.
If you believe otherwise, contact us and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the dates at the top will change and the updated policy will be published at this address before the change ships. Questions or requests: [email protected].
