1. Overview

Scanning, text recognition and translation run on your phone.
Your documents, page images and recognised text never leave your device unless you share or export them yourself.
We have no servers that store your data, and no account is needed.
The app contains no advertising or analytics service of ours. Google's on-device ML Kit components send Google limited diagnostic data, described in section 4.
We do not sell, share or monetise user data.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

DocsMining does not collect, store on a server, or send us any of the following:

Personal Identity

No name, email, phone number, address or account.

Your Documents

Scans, page images, recognised text, translations and vault contents stay on your phone.

Contacts and Photos

The app has no contacts or photo library permission. Saving a business card opens your own contacts app for you to review.

Advertising and Location

No ads, no advertising ID and no location.

We have no servers that receive your documents.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

Documents and Library

Page images, recognised text, folders, tags and a local activity history for each document.

Vault

Vault pages and their text are encrypted with AES-256 using a key kept in Android's secure key storage on this phone. They cannot be restored to another phone.

Language Models and Settings

Translation and handwriting models you download, your preferences and your branding logo.

Pro Purchase State

A local Pro flag and, while a purchase is being confirmed, its Google Play purchase token.

Exported files are created only when you export, and earlier exports are removed the next time the app starts. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes all of this.

4. Network Requests and Third Party Services

Purchase Verification

When you buy or restore Pro, the app sends the Google Play purchase token, the product id and the app's package name to our verification service, which checks the purchase with Google Play. Nothing else is sent, and the token is not stored by us.

Model Downloads

Translation (about 30 MB per language) and handwriting (about 20 MB per language) models download from Google only after you agree. Google Play services also installs the document scanner component. No document content is sent.

Google ML Kit Diagnostics

Google's ML Kit components send Google device and app information, an installation identifier, performance and error details, and the languages used, for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google encrypts it in transit and does not share it with third parties. Your images and text are not included.

Fonts

The app's typefaces, and the fonts used for translated PDF exports, download from Google Fonts (fonts.gstatic.com). Google sees your IP address for those downloads.

Links You Tap

Links to our website, email or Google Play open only when you tap them.

All requests use encrypted HTTPS.

5. Google Play Purchases

Pro is a one time purchase handled entirely by Google Play.

Card and payment details never reach the app or us.
We do not receive your Google account information.
On start the app asks Google Play which purchases this account owns, so a refunded purchase is removed. This check happens between your phone and Google Play.

6. App Permissions

Biometrics

Unlocks the vault with your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Android handles it; the app only receives yes or no.

Internet

Purchase verification, model and font downloads, and Google's ML Kit diagnostics in section 4.

Camera and Images

The app requests no camera or photo permission. Google's document scanner handles the camera itself, and a photo you pick for branding uses Android's photo picker.

Sharing In

Images you share to DocsMining from another app are copied into your library.

7. Children's Privacy

DocsMining is a general audience utility. It is not directed to children under 13 and we collect no data from any user.

8. Policy Changes

This policy applies to DocsMining 1.7.0 and later, effective 6 Oct 2026. When the app's data behaviour changes, we update this page, its version and its effective date in the same release.

9. Copyright and Tamper Protection

DocsMining, its source code, design, brand identity, and all associated assets are protected by copyright. Reverse engineering, repackaging, decompiling, modifying signed builds, or redistributing the APK or AAB without written authorisation is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action under applicable copyright and computer misuse legislation.

Only builds published to Google Play under the publisher account "Hasnain Butt Akhtar / Hasnain Studio X" are genuine. Side loaded or third party builds are unauthorised and unsupported.
